Retrofit double glazing for an older Ararat home
Ararat has no shortage of solid old homes, and the goldfields-era and mid-century houses around the district were mostly built with single-glazed timber windows that let the heat out and the cold in.
Retrofitting is how you fix that without changing the look of the place. We take out the single pane and fit a sealed, argon-filled unit into the frame you already have, so the window still looks right from the street but the room holds its warmth.
Out this way the winters are colder and more exposed than in town, so the difference in draughts, condensation and heating bills tends to be one you notice quickly. Around 90% of homes suit it, it usually comes in at a fraction of the patented-system price, and we will tell you honestly when we measure if yours is one of the few that does not.
